“Answering the Call: Saying ‘Yes’ to the Journey of Spiritual Transformation”

At this historic Time of paradigm shifts, upheavals, and what some might describe as a ‘Wasteland’ experience, our Best Selves are being called forth to Step Up and support each other in ‘Seeding the Chaos’ with the values, visions, and compassionate energy we need for a Healing Emergence into a New Story.

The Journey of the Heroine/Hero stands as a model for how we might identify, accept, and move through this critical, yet exciting, challenge.

Following our May workshop’s focus on the Call, during this five-day residential retreat (17 - 21 June), we explore phase two of the Heroine/Hero’s Journey – a time to say ‘Yes’ and begin the Journey of Spiritual Transformation (often called the Road of Trials). This is when we experience leaving the familiar for the Lure of Becoming.

Here we can work more deeply with our fears and attitudes toward death, dying, loss, and grief, but also explore and find strength, courage, inspiration, comfort, and joy in the values, guiding principles, beliefs, and spiritual/religious traditions we hold dear. Here we can welcome with gratitude the Compassionate Allies who show up to walk with us and support us.

Using the Sociometric Wheel to further explore their place in this process, participants will have the opportunity to choose whether they are ready to step over the Threshold onto the Road of Trials; identify and work with their Compassionate Allies; experience the support of a kindred spirit community; and utilize transformational tools, including ceremony.

Throughout the retreat and toward the end, there will be time to reflect upon choices, challenges, support, and process. Participants will be able to access roles that can deepen their understanding of and experience with action methods and their use. They also will reflect on how their learning during this retreat might be incorporated personally and/or professionally after returning home.

Though helpful, it is not necessary to attend the earlier or later workshops. There are no pre-requisites for any of them, and the overall heroine/hero’s journey is incorporated into all three. The October workshop will focus on the Return.

Family Therapy with individuals using the Social Atom.
Sometimes we wish to understand family of origin issues or current family relationships but are unable to get the family to participate in therapy. This workshop will help us explore family relationships, our "social atom," using role reversal, a technique which allows us to work with systemically with individual clients.
